In 1903, John Schlemmer opened a small harness and buggy shop at 108-114 West Canal Street in Downtown Wabash. 

 

What started as leather and hardware quickly grew into more. Brothers joined, trades evolved, and eventually Schlemmer Brothers became known for metalworking.
 

Today, Schlemmer's Fire & Outdoor is northeast Indiana's authority on all things fire: fireplaces, stoves, chimneys, and grills.  Our CSIA-certified chimney professionals, seasoned installers, and long-time staff carry on a standard that's been sharpened for over a century.

From installs to inspections, from wood stoves to gas fireplaces, we handle it all with a care that only comes from five generations of hard work.
